Airlines of the Web. Good, friendly all-in-one flight enquiry/ reservation/ search site with car rental and accomodation search and reservations available. Worldwide, not just US. Hotel listings are based on hotel chains rather than local independents.

Delta Airlines . Exactly what you"d expect from an airline site, the Delta pages are divided into two principal categories - flights and airmiles. The flight section will let you plan a trip, find out about in-flight service and that kind of thing, whereas the airmiles section lets you check the status of your account etc. The entire site (including parts that cannot be reached by other means, such as Delta Cargo and general services) are accesible through an omnipresent navigation screen at the top of the page. No surprises, but thankfully nothing superfluous either.

United (Airlines) Rising. Same standard airline stuff. Java and non-Java versions available, but personally I found the Java easier to manage. No surprises in terms of content, but I did have difficulty in getting links to activate.

American Airlines. With seemingly more content than standard airline sites, this site is trying to offer more but doesn"t really. Standard Airline stuff.

US Air. A simple and clearly laid-out site refreshingly free of pretentious gizmos. Highly functional and efficient. Apart from that, the contents are the usual suspects.

SouthWestern Air. More standard airline fare laid out in a convenient and intuitive manner. No surprises except for their own Visa Card (see below).
